If you are interested in joining our team as an undergrad, technician, or postdoc — hit the link below!

Undergraduates: Laboratory research is an enriching part of the undergraduate experience - and we welcome enthusiastic and talented undergrads to join our team. WashU undergraduates can register to conduct independent research in the Joint Crosstalk Lab for course credit via the Bio200/500 courses. There are also a variety of programs that facilitate paid summer research experiences for WashU and non-WashU undergraduates through DBBS and the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR). Contact DBBS, OUR, or Dr. Knights with inquiries about specific programs for more information.

Technicians & Research Assistants: We are actively recruiting technicians and RAs to join our team. These positions are ideal for those wanting to develop their scientific and analytical skills and expertise ahead of further education (postbac, pre-med, gap year, pre-grad school, etc), or for scientists interested in a stable, long-term position covering roles such as wet lab experimentation, animal colony management, and laboratory administration.

Postdoctoral Researchers: We are seeking passionate and pioneering PhD biologists or engineers who are eager to make new discoveries and breakthroughs in our vibrant, interdisciplinary research team. We offer competitive pay and benefits and a stimulating, collegial scientific environment optimal for academic, industry, or other career aspirations. Prospective postdocs should send Dr. Knights a CV with references, a brief explanation of their scientific/professional goals, and a description of how they envision a postdoc in our lab will help achieve them.

Graduate Students: Graduate admission is coordinated through the DBBS Program at WashU. Prospective students interested in the Joint Crosstalk Lab should apply through DBBS (applications open in the Fall), and we welcome rotation students to experience life in our lab. DBBS offers world class graduate education and generous stipend and benefits that are highly competitive with peer institutions relative to cost of living.
